Why is my new Alpaca Blanket, Throw, Sweater shedding?
" Initially some fiber abundant alpaca items may shed loose fibers. Typically we only see this in thick blankets and thick woven capes, not in knit items. A small amount of shedding is normal for a new woven alpaca item and will decrease with time. If desired, you can “fix” the fibers to the item quickly using a gentle machine or hand wash and rinse in cold water using light detergent. Line/air dry. Drying in dryer for 5-10 minutes will add to fluff and could be used for a blanket. -purelyalpaca"
