Non-Woven Geotextile 4/6/8oz (French Drains, Filtration, Retaining Walls) - DOTDAY TERRA
DOTDAY TERRA is a non-woven, needle-punched polypropylene geotextile in 4, 6 and 8 oz weights for French drains, filtration behind retaining walls, soil separation, driveways and access roads, and erosion control. Water passes through the thickness of the fabric while soil fines are held back. Black, calendered on both sides. UV-stabilized. Choose the weight by the job: 4 oz for light-duty drainage and separation, 6 oz for mid-weight stabilization and drainage, 8 oz for driveways, access roads and heavy stabilization.
Wrap your drain trench with TERRA so it does not silt up.
Best for: French drains, Filtration behind walls, Soil separation, Driveways and access roads, Erosion control, Retaining walls.
Install Tips: Line the whole trench with enough extra to fold over the top. Add washed stone and pipe, then wrap the fabric over the stone with a 12 inch overlap before backfilling. Use heavier weights under heavier loads.

- Behind retaining walls, under driveway and access road base
FAQs
- Can drip tubing go under or over the fabric? Over is easiest for maintenance: lay SHIELD, run drip on top, then mulch. Emitters stay accessible.
- Which fabric for a French drain? TERRA. Woven fabrics like SHIELD are not made for filtration. Use 4 oz for typical yard drains, 6 oz for heavier soils or longer runs.
- Which fabric under gravel? XBAR. SHIELD is for mulch and is not rated for stone loads.
- Does water pass through? Yes, all three are permeable. TERRA and XBAR carry published flow rates.
- How do I secure it? Overlap seams and secure with landscape staples. Rolls ship as fabric only.
- Where are the specs? thedotday.com/technical-data-sheets. Values are typical, not MARV.
